Believe it or not, reading will help you to become a more talented writer. If you take the time to read what you like and are interested in, you will soon find that your creative juices are flowing. Reading also gives you another writer?s perspective and outlook. You may pick up on the way that they describe a certain scene or character or you might be reminded of the aspects of your own writing that you like and are proud of.

Taking notes is another excellent exercise to enhance creativity. Jotting down notes throughout the day in a small notebook will turn out to be useful information later on. Capturing, not only the details, but also your thoughts and feelings surrounding the event is also helpful.

Write about what interests you. Even if you have a job that assigns you certain topics, make time in your day to fit in your own creative writing exercises. The more you write about what excites you, the better writer you will become at work.

Most of all, write every day. Even if you only take a few minutes to express yourself?those sentences could turn into an entire story tomorrow. Let the writer within you come out and play, every day.
